Gary Martin (Alto/Tenor Saxophones)
Gary Martin studied at the University of Toronto where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music. He also studied Composition with Walter Buczinski and Edward Laufer, as well as Orchestration and Arranging with Shelley Berger. He has written several scores for major motion pictures, including a premier for Director’s Choice at the Cannes Film Festival. He has also written and recorded several works for Concert Band ensembles and Jazz ensembles, including “Blues for BH”, as played by Don Menza. In 1989 he wrote a commissioned work for Princess Margaret. He is currently the leader of the MegaCity Big Band.
