Sarang Kulkarni (Baritone/Alto Saxophones)

Sarang is currently a scientist by day working in a cancer research lab but an enthusiastic saxophonist by night.  Over the years he has played in number of big bands in the Greater Toronto Area and is a resident in the City of Oakville.  He is a regular member of the Mississauga Big Band Jazz Ensemble and the Megacity Swing Band.  He put together this octet group primarily because the essence of Cool West Coast Groove emulated by the legends such as Dave Pell, Shorty Rogers, Gerry Mulligan, Henry Mancini, Dave Brubeck, Al Belletto and others, is sorely missing from the Toronto Jazz Scene.
