John Collin (Drums)
I’m John Collin, a professional drummer from Toronto. I have done Showband work on Cruise Ships, as well as musical theater shows here in Toronto such as Footloose, Cabaret, Peter Pan, Hairspray, Disney’s Camp Rock, Beauty and the…Beast, The Sound of Music, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat. I enjoy working with smaller or big band jazz groups and have played with jazz/nu-jazz/fusion band “ZimZum” and subbed in for both The Thornhill Big Band, Megacity Swing Band as well as the Music Lovers Big Band, George Lake Big Band, GTA Swing Band, Kerr St. Big Band, John Hood Orchestra and Sheraton Cadwell Orchestras. I have performed with latin groups such as “Four Samba”, multiple top 40 bands, tribute acts and studio sessions, and have been lucky enough to play with The Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra (G.T.P.O). In 2005 I played in the opening act for Keisha Chante’s Solo Bell Mobility Tour which was singer/actress Cassie Steel of Degrassi: The Next Generation. In 2011 I played a Sheraton Hotel gig 6 nights a week in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam which lasted April-July.
